Summary

The CSA Goalkeeper Academy provides goalkeepers exposure to all phases of the game in a positive learning environment.  Goalkeepers participate in the CSA Goalkeeper Showcase, goalkeeper-specific small group training sessions, small-sided (7v7) high intensity games and 11v11 games.  A common complaint from keepers in regards to training and camps is that keepers do not get as much action as they would like to showcase their abilities.  The CSA Goalkeeper Academy is designed to ensure that goalkeepers are afforded many opportunities to perform in front of college coaches and receive useful feedback and technical guidance from an experienced coaching staff.

The CSA Goalkeeper Academy provides an interactive learning environment that includes feedback from our experienced staff of college coaches and the Director of the Goalkeeper Academy.  Goalkeepers work hand-in-hand with the Director of Goalkeeper Academy and interact directly with college coaches and student-athletes.  All the college coaches on staff at CSA have the ability to observe and evaluate keepers at close range during the camp.  The daily small-sided games and the 11v11 games provide great recruiting exposure for participants.

CSA Goalkeeper Showcase:
The CSA Goalkeeper Showcase is a 2-3 hour block where all the goalkeepers train together. Both visiting and staff college coaches are invited to watch the session.  Please note all sessions and games, including the CSA Goalkeeper Showcase are open to college coaches.

During the showcase, the Director of Goalkeeper Academy will personally run technical and tactical drills to allow coaches to see goalkeepers train and be involved in game situations.  Outfield players will participate in certain sessions (crossing and finishing exercise and set piece scenarios) to allow coaches to see how the goalkeeper performs in a match situation.

7v7 Small Sided Games:
The small-sided game format is designed to put goalkeepers in situations that require quick decision-making and response to game situations.  Each game is 30 minutes in length and goalkeepers will be involved in three games per 7v7 block.  Due nature of the small-sided format, goalkeepers are encouraged to play out of defense without punting the ball or throwing the ball great distances.  This allows coaches to observe goalkeepers playing with their feet.
